The following ADS members have received past awards, grants and fellowship offered by the society.

Provided by the Kellion Foundation and the ADS for an Australian who has made an outstanding contribution in diabetes research, clinical or service areas in Australia. The recipient of the Award delivers the Kellion Plenary Lecture at the ADS Annual Scientific Meeting.

This is a one year ‘bridging’ fellowship sponsored by the Australian Diabetes Society and is awarded to an ADS member who is not more than 6 years beyond their post-doctoral studies. This award is in honor of the late FIR ‘Skip’ Martin a founding member of the Australian Diabetes Society and the recipient must present their work at the ADS/ADEA Australasian Diabetes Congress.

This Mid-Career Award supporting the career of a clinical diabetes researcher from endocrinology/diabetes clinicians who are members of the Australian Diabetes Society (ADS) and are between 6-15 years’ post-doctoral degree. This award has been made possible by the generosity of Dr Ranji Wikramanayake, a long standing member of the Australian Diabetes Society. This award commenced in 2016.

The Australian Diabetes Society together with the Lindsey Baudinet Family is pleased to announce the Lindsey Baudinet Rising Star Award in Type 1 Diabetes Research. The purpose of the award is to support eligible early-career researchers to pursue research in type 1 diabetes and its complications.

The Best ADS Clinical Presentation Award in memory of Dr Paul Lee is to the value of A$1,250. The finalists will be categorised into Clinical Research and the award will be given to the best oral presentation by an ADS member at the ADS/ADEA Australasian Diabetes Congress.

The Quality in Diabetes Care (QIDC) Meeting provide a forum for trainees to learn by presenting and discussing interesting cases in diabetes care by endocrinology advanced trainees, fellows and other speciality advanced trainees wanting to enter the program. At the Australasian Diabetes Congress, the best finalist presentation will be able to share their presentation at the QIDC session and the overall national winner will be selected.

The ADS-MSD Educational Travel Grant for Medical PhD Scholars is an award that recognises excellence in the field of medical research. This offer is intended as an educational grant to provide sponsorship of a PhD student to attend the ADA/EASD conference.
