Goals and Objectives of the Australian Diabetes Society
The Australian Diabetes Society is the peak medical and scientific body for diabetes in Australia representing medical and scientific professionals working in diabetes treatment and research. The ADS is a national organisation founded in 1973. It is a membership-based organisation consisting of endocrinologists, physicians, endocrine trainee doctors, scientists/researchers, general practitioners and allied health professionals. It is administered by a National Council elected from the membership who take on this role in an honorary capacity. The main aim of ADS is to enhance the welfare of individuals with diabetes mellitus through improving knowledge and understanding, producing management guidelines, training of health professionals and supporting diabetes research.
Please note the following conditions:
- Once your application has been submitted you will then be directed and required to pay for your membership. Please note that if your membership payment is not received at the same time you submit your application, this may delay in having your membership application ratified. If your application is not approved by the ADS Membership Committee, then the ADS Secretariat will arrange to have your membership payment refunded to you in full.
- Please have ready any supporting documents that may be required for you to upload.
- It is very important to note that ALL new applicants will NOT have access to the member’s directory via the ADS website until such time when membership applications are approved officially by the ADS Council.
