With Commonwealth and State/Territory Governments recognising diabetes mellitus as a National Health Priority Area, continual input will be required from Australian Diabetes Society (ADS) on the range of initiatives being implemented including the Australian National Diabetes Strategy 2021-2030. The ADS works collaboratively with it’s long-standing partners; Diabetes Australia and the Australian Diabetes Educators Association in continually advocating for research support, standards of care and policy submissions for diabetes mellitus in Australia. The ADS Strategic Plan 2023-2027 seeks to provide a clear vision and focus on the four key strategic pillars (Research, Education, Clinical Standards and Advocacy) including activities undertaken by the ADS to ensure we provide the best and most up to date medical and scientific input into diabetes management, treatment and care in the coming years.
