Projects must be applicable to diabetes care in Australia. The Principal Investigator must be a financial member of the ADS for at least one year at the time of application (must have joined as a member of ADS no later than May 2024 and paid membership fees to 30 June 2026). Applicants can have either a clinical or discovery (basic) science qualification.
Grant applications are to be submitted in the format: title, background, aims, methods, expected contribution to diabetes, project plan, ethics approval (if relevant) and a detailed budget. Grant applications must be NO longer than four A4 pages with a minimum font size of 12 (includes references). Applications must be accompanied by a full curriculum vitae. A full report on the outcome of the work must be submitted to ADS and the awardee is expected to present their work at the 2027 Australasian Diabetes Congress and must include acknowledgement of the Australian Diabetes Society of the grant support including any publication(s).
Please note that only one grant application is permitted per applicant.
